General Hatha Yoga

This is a general class which is suitable for all levels (including beginners) as the class can be adapted to suit all. After stilling both body and mind by controlling the breath the class focuses on holding asanas (postures) designed to improve balance, flexibility and range of movement, strength and core strength. There is usually a mixture of asanas performed lying down, seated and standing. It finishes with a relaxation or guided meditation.

Yin Yoga

In this class you will move into long held stretches which are designed to work more deeply into the joint, ligaments, and Fascial tissues. Holding poses for longer enables you to yield to the position and also creates space to clear the mind and move to stillness. This is a challenging but very relaxing practice which is beneficial for mental, emotional and physical wellbeing

Ashtanga Styled Yoga

A shorter and adapted version using asana from the Ashtnga series primary series. In these classes you will learn the foundation asanas and under the careful guidance of our teachers you will be supported to build up your practice and stamina whilst enjoying a wonderful challenge.

Beginner’s Yoga

We understand that joining a yoga class as a beginners may seem daunting but really there is nothing to worry about. Yoga really is for everyone. These classes are reserved for complete beginners and are tailored to introduce yoga asana (postures), breath work and relaxation in a calm, relaxed and supported manner. Students will be able to work at their own pace and to their own level of ability. We will introduce adjustment and adaptations to make it accessible to everyone and when students are ready to move on we can advise which classes would be most suitable for them.

Relaxation

With today’s fast pace of life we all need to learn how to slow down and find stillness. Relaxation is an integral part of all our yoga classes but we also offer one hour relaxation sessions where the focus is on controlling the breath and relaxing for a longer period of time. We use a number of different techniques from Progressive Muscle Relaxation, sound baths (using Tibetan singing bowls), Yoga Nidra and beautiful guided meditations and relaxations. We will provide bolsters, cushions blankets and lavender eye pillows to make the experience more enjoyable.
